Akari is a single-room clinic in Fourways Gardens, run by Georgia — an ITEC-certified dermal aesthetician. One client at a time. Facials, HydraFacial, chemical peels, microneedling, IPL, laser hair removal and body contouring, all in one room in the north of Johannesburg.

The clinic
Akari means light
It's the Japanese word for it, and it's why I chose the name. The work here is about drawing out the glow that's already there — restoring radiance and balance, and the confidence that comes with both.
It's one room, one bed and one pair of hands, so there's no queue behind you and nothing is rushed. I wanted somewhere people feel genuinely cared for while they're here, and walk out of feeling a little more confident and a little more radiant than when they came in.
Open 09:00 to 18:00 on weekdays and 08:00 to 14:00 on Saturdays, with Sundays by request.

What happens
Your first visit
The consultation is the most useful appointment you'll book. It's where the plan gets set — what your skin can tolerate, in what order, and how quickly you'll see it change. Everything after it is easier for having done it.
Consultation
Skin analysis, medical and product history, and a straight answer on what's realistic for your skin. R250, deducted from your first treatment.
The plan
You leave with a written treatment sequence, the spacing between appointments, and a homecare list — including what to stop using.
Treatment
Georgia works through the plan and adjusts it against how your skin actually responds — at whatever pace suits you.

How much is a consultation?
R250, and it comes off the cost of your first treatment — so it isn't an extra charge, it's the first part of the treatment. It covers a full skin analysis, your medical and product history, and a written plan with homecare.
Do I need a consultation before a peel, microneedling, IPL or laser?
Yes. Those four are the treatments where strength, depth and settings have to be matched to your skin, and getting that wrong causes damage rather than results. IPL and laser also need a patch test. Facials, dermaplaning, brows and lashes can be booked straight away.
How much does laser hair removal cost?
Per session, by area — from R300 for lip, chin or jaw, R400 for half arm or bikini, R450 under arm, R500 full face, R550 Brazilian, R650 chest or half leg, R700 full arm or Hollywood, R750 back, and R950 for full legs. The full list is in the price list above.
How many laser hair removal sessions will I need?
Laser only affects hairs that are in their active growth phase, so appointments are usually spaced four to six weeks apart. Georgia will give you a realistic idea for your hair and skin type at the consultation. Come with the area shaved, not waxed.
What are your opening hours?
09:00 to 18:00 Monday to Friday, and 08:00 to 14:00 on Saturdays. Sundays are by request — send a message and ask.

Fourways Gardens, in the north of Johannesburg. It's a private single-room studio, so the exact address and gate details come through once your appointment is confirmed.
How soon will I see a difference?
It depends on what's being treated. A HydraFacial or dermaplaning shows immediately. Pigmentation, texture and scarring change more gradually — Georgia will give you an honest picture at the consultation of what to expect and when.
